South African DJ and record producer Black Coffee wins the BET Best International Act, Africa 2016, beating favorite, Wizkid, among other contenders such as Yemi Alade, Cassper Nyovest, AKA, Diamond Platnumz, Mz Vee and Serge Beynaud.
This was announced by the award organizers on their twitter page and the winner, Black Coffee felt he didn't merit the award but Wizkid.

In his words, "I would like to see Wizkid take it. He’s worked hard! I really think he deserves it. He’s also done well internationally being featured on Drake’s album and working with Chris Brown".

These got many of us asking questions; "is there anything we are missing here?", "did he missed the award because of his comment on last year BET Award?".
Many questioned the integrity of the award, if this award by BET really reflect on rewarding the best hardworking act with good record (single, collaboration...) and performances within the year in question.
Undoubtedly, many saw Wizkid as a clear cut (supposed) winner for the award and that reflect on the comment by the winner, Black Coffee. After being included as one of the guest Artist for Chris Brown's tour around Europe, featured in both Drake and Tinie Tempah separate albums, not to talk of his rank among international figures on entertainment ranking platforms such as Spotify and Billboard, he truly deserved this but that wasn't the case.

On the other news, our home boy Falz emerged winner for the award of "BET Viewer's Choice Best International Act", beating off Section Boyz (South London), WSTRN (West London), Emtee (South Africa), Tkay (Australia) and MHD (France).
