The former Juventus manager will take charge of the Blues at the end of the season. His contract with the Italian national team ends after the Euros and he has agreed on a 3-year-deal at Stamford Bridge.
A statement on the Chelsea official website read: “Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Antonio Conte as First Team Head Coach.”
“Conte, who is currently the manager of the Italy national side, has signed a three-year contract. He will begin work in London following his country’s participation in this summer’s Euro 2016 tournament.”
Conte spoke of his delight after the move and claimed that he is looking forward to meeting everyone at the club. He was also relieved that the announcement has been made and now he can focus on his work with Italy for the Euros.
Conte was in London earlier today to finalise his move to Chelsea.
Meanwhile, Southampton keeper Fraser Forster has been linked with a move to Chelsea.
Recently Courtois claimed that he is unsure about his future at Stamford Bridge and now Sun are reporting that the Blues are favourites to land the Southampton keeper as the Belgian’s replacement.
Forster is one of the best keepers in the Premier League right now and would be a good addition to the Chelsea side.
Finally, Antonio Conte is keen on bringing Romelu Lukaku back to Stamford Bridge.
The Belgian striker has been a massive hit with Everton and is a target for the new Chelsea manager this summer.
Lukaku has previously claimed that he is open to a return and it seems that Conte wants it to happen.
