UNILAG Address Power Outage On Campus

The Eko Electricity Distribution Company
(EKEDC) notified the university, through the
director of
works and physical planning, that power
generation has reduced considerably due to
the ongoing nationwide strike by workers of
Nigerian Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas
(NUPENG) and Petroleum and Natural Gas
Senior Staff Association of Nigeria
(PENGASSAN).

The situation has resulted
in massive load shedding across the network
covered by EKEDC. The university relies on
its generator which is capable of carrying
only 30% of the campus load.

Pending the time the strike is called off and
normalcy restored, efforts are in place to
ensure
proper rationing and equitable distribution of
available power across the entire university.

The management thanks the entire university
community for its continued cooperation.
