ASOS founder Nick Robertson to give ex-wife £70m compensation after messy divorce

Nick Robertson, founder of ASOS, one of the World's leading clothing online retail company is set to give his wife £70m compensation after a divorce court case that the judge himself said he 'wanted them to settle outside court'.

48 year old Nick, worth £200m had offered to pay his wife £30m as settlement saying anything above that was untenable, but is now set to pay over double that amount after today's ruling.
Robertson, one of Britain's richest men, is thought to have moved in with former PA Charlotte Balin, 15 years his junior, months after his split with wife Janine . The judge said:
"I strongly urged the parties to settle the case, but no compromise has resulted." He said he hopes both can now move on with their lives.

The court heard Mr Robertson stepped down as ASOS chief executive in September. ASOS was founded in 2000, fours years before the couple wed, and now sells more than 80,000 branded and own-brand products to nearly 10 million customers.

The company now employs more than 3,000 people.
