LvG wants defender after 3-3 draw, Man Utd hours away from agreement

Manchester United are close to finalising a move for the Dynamo Kiev centre-back Aleksandar Dragovic.

The highly rated defender was linked with a move to Premier League last season as well and according to reports in Italy (via Express), Dragovic could move to Old Trafford soon.

The report claims that Louis Van Gaal is looking to make a defensive signing after his side’s 3-3 draw against Newcastle and Dragovic has been identified as the ideal candidate.

Furthermore, they have also claimed that an agreement is hours away.

Manchester United have had to field a makeshift back four at times this season due to injuries and signing a defender makes perfect sense.

The 24-year-old Austrian has attracted a lot of interest from several Premier League clubs with his performances for Dynamo and it appears that he will finally take the next step with a big move to Manchester United.

The likes of Rojo and Jones have struggled with injuries and Van Gaal needs a reliable partner for Chris Smalling. The Austrian could form a formidable defensive partnership with Smalling for years to come.
