Last week, the purported secondary
school certificate of the APC presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari,
was released by the principal of his alma-mater, Government College,
Katsina, Mr. Isyaku Bello Kofarsoro. Shortly after he released it, the
principal was summoned by the state government.
The invitation of Kofarsoro led to
questions about whether the government was attempting to victimise or
query him for releasing it.
However, the Commissioner of Education
Professor Kado Kurfi, has now clarified that the principal was only
summoned for verification purposes.
Kurfi told the Daily Trust newspaper that the principal was not queried over the release of the result.
“No query was issued; why do I have to
do that? We invited him to verify if indeed he was the one that
released it and to ensure that it is genuine”, he said.
