Jose Mourinho signs pre- contract deal with Man U...will be paid £15m if he isn't appointed by June 1

Jose Mourinho has reportedly signed a pre-contract agreement with Manchester United to take over as the new coach of the club this summer. The Portuguese coach has been linked with Manchester United ever since he was sacked by former club Chelsea in December, but has now signed a pre- contract agreement with Manchester United according to an exclusive report by top Spanish newspaper El País.

According to the report Mourinho will be paid up to £15m if by June 1, 2016 the club refuses to employ him.
“If United do not sign the final contract [with Mourinho] before 1 May, they must pay £5m; if by 1 June he’s still not signed, they shall pay another £10m. May is the key, because it’s the month in which the vast majority of the signings of players are closed and the plans formed.” Read the report.
El País claim that the clause has been included because senior figures at Old Trafford, including Sir Alex Ferguson and Sir Bobby Charlton, are not entirely convinced that Mourinho is the right man to succeed Louis van Gaal.

Senior officials at Manchester United like Ed Woodward have refused to deny the report.

English FA make last-ditch effort to convince Jay- Jay Okocha's nephew Alex Iwobi to play for England instead of Nigeria

The English Football Association is set to make a last ditch effort to convince Arsenal starlet Alex Iwobi to play for England, and not Nigeria.

The 19 year old, who is also nephew to Legendary African footballer Austin Jay-Jay Okocha, has been a regular in the Arsenal first team this season and last weekend scored his first premier league goal for Arsenal.

Iwobi has played for England's Under-16, U17 and U18 sides before choosing to represent Nigeria, the country of his birth after being convinced by Sunday Oliseh and his uncle Jay Jay Okocha..

Alex Iwobi has played in two friendlies for Nigeria, but won’t be officially tied to them until he plays a competitive game for Nigeria, meaning England have about five days to convince him to change his mind.

Read the report from MirrorSport below...
''Iwobi is in line to make his competitive debut THIS WEEK after being named in Nigeria’s squad for their Africa Cup of Nations qualifying double header against Egypt, who they host this Friday before the away return next Tuesday.' That has prompted desperate late attempts from the FA to try to get Iwobi to change his mind.
There is no suggestion Iwobi will be fast-tracked into the senior England set-up and handed a premature call-up. But FA chiefs do see him as a potential future Three Lions international and know their hopes of landing him will be dashed if he plays in Nigeria’s upcoming games.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has backed up the FA’s views on Iwobi by giving the youngster a glowing reference.'' ''He is understood to have told the FA the player has a big future at the North Londoners and, having let him get away once, they should do everything possible to try to get him back.''

With 7 games to go for Leicester, they are still top of the table, while Chelsea is 10th. What a season!

“It is clear Sunday Oliseh wants to remain in the news, we'll demand N10m from him - NFF

The Nigerian Football Federation has frowned at the constant accusations being leveled at the football federation by former coach Sunday Oliseh in the wake of his recent decision to withdraw his legal suit against the NFF.

The NFF in it's part has decided to review it's legal notes and serve Sunday Oliseh with letters asking him to refund the N5m paid him in lieu of his accommodation in Nigeria, and the February 2016 salary (N5m) that should serve in lieu of his one month notice of resignation.

Chairman of the NFF Technical Committee, Chris Green rejected claims by Oliseh that the NFF imposed players on him saying even the former technical committee chairman Felix Anyasi-Agwu didn't impose players on Oliseh. Green also said Oliseh loved the media attention being given to him buth that the NFF would soon serve him legal papers.

“I can vouch for Felix Anyansi-Agwu, who was chairman of the committee before me, that he is not that type of person. I was made chairman on January 16 and travelled to Rwanda on January 17, when the team for the CHAN had been composed.''  Green said to VanguardSports.

The Super Eagles have not played any match since CHAN. So, when did we have time to try and impose players on him?
“We are not in anyway moved by his vituperations. He claims we did not provide him information with regards to Egypt, but how come we have been able to provide Siasia with the same? He should respect himself and move on.”
“We welcomed Oliseh with so much warmth and so much regard for his person. It is sad that he has failed to reciprocate, even at departure. He is simply full of too much talk.
“He should stop leapfrogging into unfamiliar territories, such as his mention of capacity –building program. That program was fully sponsored by corporate bodies and was never at the expense of anyone’s benefits.”
“How much he put Nigeria first in everything he did show in the way he abandoned ship with only weeks to crucial games.
“It is clear he wants to remain in the news for no other reason than to distract the NFF and the team from concentrating on these two crucial matches. It is very easy for people to grandstand and claim to be more patriotic and altruistic than others, but the true test remains what such people do when the chips are down.
“Oliseh showed a lack of heart in the way he left. And he was purely grandstanding when claiming some persons spoke to him to drop a law suit, when he knew from the beginning that he had no case.”
