Nigerian-American singer, Jidenna Theodore Mobisson, known mononymously as Jidenna, is one of few American recording artist who believe that Afrobeat is about to take a full space in the world music and Nigerian stars are in the forefront.
The Wondaland/Epic Records signee, in his recent interview with CNN spoke highly of his fellow Nigerian stars as he believe that the gradual invasion of Afrobeat into the America's music chart is been brought about by Nigerian stars.
For him, pinpointing the likes of Wizkid, Davido, Tiwa Savage, Flavour and others, Nigerians is taking Africa to another level, exporting African music to the rest of the world.
I think it’s Nigeria’s moment, it’s Africa’s moment. I think Nigeria is a spearhead because Nigerians seem to be charged full of character so people are eating it up all across the world.
The "Classic Man" confirmed his collaboration with Wizkid which is still under work, and might make his forthcoming project, debut album titled "Long Live The Chief". He also revealed his intention to work with some other top stars in the country, with the likes of Davido, Flavour and Tiwa Savage.
Speaking on his album and his afrobeat debut with the song "Little Bit More", where he took some lines in Nigeria Pidgin English, the rapper believed its another way of showing the influence of his Nigerian roots to his music.
On what influenced his musical lines (lyrics), the Grammy Awards Nominee made it clear that some of the proverbs he grew up with have immensely shaped his music lyrics.

I wanted to see [if] in the US, I can get a song on the radio that actually has pidgin in it? And I did it
That's the beautiful thing... [my album] you can dance and shoki to it, in the larger context my album blends the different worlds that I've lived in.

I have all these proverbs stored in my head. My friends always laugh because they're like you're always trying to preach and teach something to us.
I grew up with all these proverbs and I have to share it, I think it’s the values and principles that makes my Nigerian identity a part of me stand out.
