Magic wand shop refuses to sell to Harry Potter fans 'cos "wands aren't toys"

This is pretty weird...Witches and wizards? How come African witches and wizards don't use wands?

A professional wand maker has banned Harry Potter fans on the hunt for memorabilia from his shop, because wands aren’t toys.

And, of course, there’s no pulling the wool over his eyes – he says he can tell a real wizard from an ordinary muggle, just from their aura.

Richard Carter, opened Mystical Moments in Slaithwaite, Huddersfield, alongside partner Jackie Restall, in April this year.

He’s been making wands for the last few years and says they are ‘spiritual tools’ and not just keepsakes for Potterheads.

The responsible wand maker says he can also recognise dark wizards and won’t sell to them either.

‘If I had someone come in wanting a wand just because they liked Harry Potter I would not sell them one, no matter how much they were offering,’ says Richard, adding: ‘I can tell what people are like when they walk in by their aura.’

He explains that his wands can be used to draw protective circles, ward off dark forces while owners meditate, bring them money or help them find love. They can also be used to cure aches, pains and stress.

Real-life witches and wizards must visit the shop in person to pick their wand. After choosing the wand which most catches their eye, they’re encouraged to hold it to ensure it feels right.

After choosing their wand (or after it chooses them), the new owners perform a ritual involving burning incense and clasping both hands over the wand to ‘cleanse’ it of the wand maker’s energy.
