Jidenna To Launch Album "Long Live The Chief" Worldwide Through Sony Music West/South Africa

This has to be the biggest way of releasing a debut album in history, I guess. EPIC Records/Wondaland Records in alliance with Sony Music West Africa and Sony Music South Africa are proud to announce a worldwide launch of Jidenna’s debut album "Long Live The Chief".

The Nigerian-American songwriter would be touring African continents, having album release parties and a filming documentary by BBC depicting his journey home to Nigeria.

The Classic Man singer, would be visiting Nigeria first where he would be hosting an exclusive album launch with Trace TV and also a live performance at Hard Rock Cafe in Lagos. He would also walk down memory lane when he travels to his childhood home in Enugu state where BBC international and True Africa would be on deck to hold exclusive documentary about the singer.

President Epic Records, Sylvia Rhone expressed that this is the sign of good things to come for the label;
"Never before have our divisions collaborated on something of this magnitude, but we are a global brand with a deep commitment to celebrating artists on the continent and throughout the African diaspora and we are so excited to begin this journey with someone as uniquely talented and as special as Jidenna."

Jidenna says the road ahead is long but there is no other better way to release an album;

"Launching an album like this is massive, but I wouldn’t want to do it any other way. The road ahead is long, but like the song says: Chief Don’t Run."

The singer would however, leave Nigeria for Johannesburg, South Africa where he would also be having replica album launch parties and media interviews. The singer who recently released a new single "Chief Don't Run" would be releasing visuals to the track on August 18th.
