Miss Puerto Rico Universe 2016, Kristhielee Caride has been stripped of her crown.
Kristhielee, who won the title of Miss Puerto Rico Universe 2016 four months ago, was to represent the Caribbean island at Miss Universe 2016.
The director of Miss Puerto Rico Universe, Desiree Lowry, said the decision to replace her stemmed from the beauty queen’s refusal to participate in interviews and her dislike for cameras.
Although Kristhielee Caride has apologised in a Facebook post, her title has been given to her replacement, Brenda Jimenez.
