Chelsea's Belgian winger: I'm a fan of Real Madrid, it's in my head now - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
Chelsea loanee Charly Musonda has voiced his intention to stay in the La Liga and play for big Spanish clubs. The 19-year-old joined Real Betis during the January transfer window, and so far he has done well for the Spanish side.
He made his debut against Valencia, and was adjudged man of the match for his performance. He tasted his first defeat at the top level after six matches unbeaten run with Betis, when his side lost 3-1 to Athletic Bilbao on Sunday.
The defeat didn’t seem to rattle him, rather he voiced his intention to stay in the Spanish league in the next season. He said after the match:
“I am happy here. My favourite clubs are in Spain. Since I was little, I’m a fan of Barcelona and Real Madrid. I learned Spanish to be able to come here.”
“I want to stay here. It’s in my head now, but we do not know what could happen next season. The future is uncertain, but it is possible that I stay next season. It’s better that I play here rather than being a back-up at Chelsea”
