The freedom of Tupac Shakur’s stepfather, Mutulu Shakur may be near, after serving 30 years out of his 60-years sentence, according to The Journal News. He is reportedly being considered for early release and is due for a parole hearing in early April.

Mutulu is reportedly the expert behind the 1981 Brinks armoured-car robbery in Nyack, New York. Two police officers and a security guard were killed and $1.8 million was stolen from the truck during the incident. He was also accused of participating in 12 robberies from 1976 to 1981.
