By Tomilola Adeyemo
And while Yoruba guys fought it, tried to wage war against it and even tried to dodge it, the name refused to go anywhere.
And now they have owned it. However, you may like to know that Yoruba demons or not, these guys stay winning.
As in, yes, Yoruba demons ti take over.
You need proof? Below are the ten Yoruba demons (listed in no particular order) even non Yorubas are grateful for.
Ladies, you’re about to love this. And guys, you’re about to want to be like these men.
Odunlade Adekola
Odunlade Adekola is tall, dark and handsome. Yeah, dude has the cliché qualities you read about in romance novels. And just in case you thought that’s the most cliché it could get, he has money and charisma and let’s not forget the fame.
Starring in the third highest grossing movie of 2015, Taxi Driver, Odunlade Adekola has taken his place without much wahala on our favorite list of Yoruba demons.
Femi Jacobs
You may remember that Femi Jacobs is the only man who appeared in more than one movie out of the top grossing movies in 2015 as exclusively revealed to us by Film One distribution.
And of course, you must be under Olumo Rock if you did not know that he can actually sing.
Lethal combo if you ask me.
Kunle Afolayan
Mr Afolayan is one of the filmmakers responsible for changing the face of Nigerian cinema. With movies that have done well in the cinema and that have given many Nigerians the reason to want to see a movie made by Nigerians, we have to say aint nothing natural about this one.

Everything spiritual.
So can I hear a two hands up in the air for this man?
Thanks.
Folarin ‘Falz’ Falana
He is probably the only entertainer at the moment who can literally act, rap, make funny videos and host without problems right now.

With an album which has been termed as one of the best of 2015 and a career that does not seem to be slowing down soon, Folarin Falana is undoubtedly one of our favorite Yoruba demons ever.
Ayo ‘Wizkid’ Balogun
I do not know who your favorite artiste is and frankly I do not care. But we all know, that whenever this guy’s name pops up anywhere in this country, he is given his due respect and is one of the most influential acts at the moment.
And whether he is tossing a cup at a fellow artiste or singing the same lyrics through an entire song, this guy is hands down one of the strongest Yoruba demons ever.

You disagree? Argue with your Ancestors.
Dapo ‘D’banj’ Oyebanjo
If you haven’t heard of D’banj then sorry I might have to do an essay article for you on that or simply just visit his wikipedia page.
However if you have, then you know this guy is popular, his koko is (a-mean the guy’s koko has been linked to powerful women including Genevieve) world famous and has caused wahala in South Africa (at least we know who to blame when next SA and Naija have an online beef) and, dude literally put Nigeria’s music on the world map in modern times.

Remember how much more of Oliver Twist people wanted in 2011?
He’s made some of the best deals in entertainment in Africa and he is that demon you’d love to love.
You may know him as eyes prince Black Arrow, because basically he is the guy who has been able to bring to life one of the best Villains and one of the strongest characters in Nollywood of all times.
With an ability to act more than half of the new generation of actors and an ability to sing (oh yeah, do not be deceived by the looks, bros can sang) Segun Arinze definitely deserves a spot on our list of favorite Yoruba demons.
Disclaimer: I am not responsible for you limiting the term Yoruba demon to the face. Thank you.
Femi Adebayo
His father is a famous actor, but over a period of years, Femi Adebayo has proven many times to audiences all over the world that he can actually hold his own.
And even though at a period in his career, his personal life threatened to take the front seat but as a correct Yoruba… he took charge and steered the camera where he wanted it.

Now you gon bow down or nah?
Ramsey Nouah
You did not think this list would finish without dropping Oga Ramsey’s name did you?
Probably one of the most loved Nollywood Actors, Ramsey still manages to top everyone’s top five whether or not he is acting.
It could be because he is team light skin or that he can actually act.

Whatever the case, I am not here to understand his jazz, I am here to give him due credit.
Dare Art Alade
Dare Art Alade’s voice is beyond the physical, it is on its way to becoming spiritual.
With an album that ranked one of the best last year (2015) and a face/body that is still sellable even after two kids, you have to admit this man just had to make it to the list.

Anyone I miss out?
PS: It is not a coincidence that almost all our guys have dark shades. Heard the phrase “igo loju omo odaran” before?
Loosely translated: Shades on the face of a bad guy. i.e a bad guy and his shades go hand in hand.
Get it now?
