On Tuesday, December 15, report surfaced that President Muhammadu Buhari received the sum of $300,000 and two SUVs from the embattled former National Security Adviser,Sambo Dasuki.
Reacting to the report, Femi Adesina, the special adviser to the president on media, said the president only got SUVs from the previous administration after an attack on him in Kaduna, which according to him was mandated by the Nigerian law for every former head of state and he did not receive any money.
Since the report surfaced, Nigerians have been talking and arguing if it was morally right for Buhari to have collected the cars from a government he tagged corrupt.
Festus Keyamo, a Nigerian lawyer, human right activist, social commentator and columnist has shed more light on the matter, giving the legal implications of the President receiving the cars.
