As the Boko Haram crisis continues to escalate, Martin Ewi, a senior researcher with the Institute for Security Studies (ISS) says the 8 700 regional troops that have been pledged by five countries to deal with the problem are "very insufficient".
In a video posted on YouTube by ISS, Ewi says the force should be reviewed so that it includes forces from other African countries.
He says the troops should also be "adequately trained" since they have no previous experience in dealing with terrorism.
