Zahra Buhari, the daughter of APC
presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari, who has become a social media
celebrity overnight following the circulation of her photograph has been
tweeting some of her thoughts on the state of the nation.
In response to a Twitter follower of
hers who said voting for Buhari next month would make Zahra happy, she
said her father’s ambition is not about her happiness but about
“reviving Nigeria.” She said that Buhari was deeply moved by the pains
which has been inflicted on Nigerians by the Peoples Democratic Party
administration.
“I’m really not sure what world PDP is in. It is amazingly frustrating,” she tweeted via her handle @Zahra3_.
Even though Buhari has been a public
figure for several years, he has kept his family and private life away
from the public eye. Zahra’s burst into the scene has brought some
excitement into the Buhari camp and campaign. And the UK-based Zahra has
not been shy to tweet her views on issues concerning Nigeria.
A lot of the responses to her have been
positive and many even hilarious, like the handle @paakoti, who said
“Hello @Zahra3_, I’m from Ghana and live in Ghana but I’ll also find a
way to vote for your father. I don’t care!”
Zahra tweeted recently that “The least
we can do for our parents is support them when they fight for the right
things in life,” she continued.
Her Twitter followership has grown in leaps to over 12,800 followers.
