Leading Nigerian vocalists 2face Idibia, Waje, Timi Dakolo and Patoranking have been announced as coaches for the maiden edition of The Voice Nigeria; a new talent hunt show packaged by African Magic and Airtel.

Speaking on the idea of ‘The Voice’, the Director, M-Net West Africa, Wangi Mba-Uzoukwu said: ‘It’s an exciting time for us at M-Net. The Voice is an internationally renowned franchise and has consistently provided exciting television content whilst giving great opportunities to talented individuals to showcase their talent to the world. The Nigerian adaptation will be no different and our viewers can expect the best television entertainment even as we wait to discover the next generation of talented singers!’.

Since its original launch in 2010, The Voice has won audiences in countries like the US, Australia, South Africa and the UK, where other renowned artistes have occupied the show’s famous red chairs as coaches.

The Voice Nigeria employs the same format including a panel of four coaches who critique the contestants’ performances. The coaches guide their teams of selected artistes through the remainder of the season whilst also competing to ensure that their act wins the competition.

The Voice Nigeria will begin airing in April 2016.

Nigerian music stars including Olamide, Wande Coal, Reminisce, Phyno and more will feature in new MTV Base TV programme tagged ‘MTV Base Lagos Party Special’, which premieres this Saturday, January 23, 2016.

The likes of Lil Kesh, Falz, Adekunle Gold, Niniola, May D, CDQ, Immaculate, Big Sheff, Viktoh, JJC, DJ Xclusive, and DJ ECool will be performing at the gig, holding at Ikeja City Mall.

The show – which will be hosted by MTV Base VJs Ehiz, Stephanie Coker and City 105.1FM’s Sensei Uche and C-Von – features exclusive interviews, party footage and backstage access to the stars.

Choc City rapper, Ice Prince remains unperturbed about allegations that his girlfriend, Maima is cheating on him and has decided to release a new joint dedicated to her.

In one of his tweets attacking Akinbode, the alleged side boo of Maima, Ice Prince disclosed that the incident has inspired a new song he is penning for Maima.

He also promised to credit Akinbode, for the inspiration. LOL.

50 Cent has responded to Meek Mill asking him to join in donating water to Flint Michigan.

‘Even a shit Head knows we are supposed to help out Flint Michigan,’

50 Cent wrote January 18 on Instagram as the caption of a picture of a faucet with running water.

‘I’m a ambassador for feeding America, I’m working with the United Nations world food program.

‘I’ll find out what are the right organizations to donate to. It’s a tax right off anyway ? Head #FRIGO #SMSAUDIO.’

The G-Unit rapper deleted the image minutes after posting it.

He then posted another meme, this one of Meek Mill accepting a certificate for ‘Most L’s Taken.’

Earlier, Meek Mill responded to a Twitter user asking the rappers, who were sending jabs back and forth on January 17 to think about the water crisis in the city instead of engaging in the Rap beef. Meek Mill then asked 50 Cent to match his donation of $50,000.
